The detour finally merges back to the
highway about 3 miles before Waimea. Waimea is one of the
towns that has grown the most since our visit 10 years ago.
A few more shopping centers and bumber to bumper traffic on
the strip during rush hour. Tonight's lodging is at the
Kamuela Inn and dinner at a local hangout Kamuela Mix
Plate.
Today's event reminds us that even
paradise is not perfect. But putting a positive spin on it -
the rider will only lose 2 riding days. At least the most
challenging rides have been done and everybody has managed
to stay away from harm. That's the way we approach cycling -
"the glass is always half full".
