| Our newest folder is the full suspension Birdy 8 Speed. Designed in Germany and manufactured in Taiwan, it features a very simplistic urethane suspension for the rear and a spring/urethane for the front. It's folding mechanism is different from the Dahon "side to side" fold. Instead the mono chainstay rotates under the bottom bracket towards the underside of the front top tube. The front wheel also rotates towards the front top tube resulting in a smaller folded package. For a cyclist travelling by commercial air, the birdy packs in a regular suitcase when the wheels are removed. Full suspension and its ability to fly commercial air "for free" are its shining feature. |
