The stock Dahon wheels are all machine built. Robots cannot match the quality and durability of the hand built wheels we assemble in house. We start out with 15gage Marwi stainless steel spokes. The wheels are then trued in 2 phases. After the first trueing, we let it stretch overnight then retrued again. We then drop thread locking fluid on each nipple. We file the inside of the rim to de burr the rim spoke holes avoiding flats. We then use rimstrips to correctly match the width of the rim.

If you have an existing wheel you want to rebuild, you can ship it to us. Typical charges per wheel are $15 for spokes and $35 for wheel assembly. Please email us details of your existing wheelset before shipping it to us.

We now offer stock Dahon wheels fully rebuilt. We start out with the stock wheel that comes standard with the Helios or Speed P8. We then cut out all the spokes and rebuild the wheels using stainless steel spokes. Instead of lacing the front radially, we lace it 2 cross for a stronger wheel. The standard hub comes in 20 hole, black, 74mm wide.  Kinetix rims are in black, double wall. Quick release not included.

For the rear wheel, we can use any hub and rim combination. Just let us know what tire width you are running so we can match an approipriate rim of the correct width. Also measure the width of your dropouts. Is it a 130mm (rear road hub) wide spacing or 135mm (MTB) ? Give us the details and we can give you the quote.

We now stock Dahon's dynamo wheel to power your lights. Comes in a double walled silver rim, 20 hole - same wheel used by the Speed Tr but we have rebuilt the wheel and handlaced it 2 cross for durability..
