This is another homebuilt project by master recycler Rick Valbuena of Vallejo, Ca. It's a long wheelbase recumbent made from a recycled road frame. To minimize welds, the frame was chopped up in assemblies. The picture below shows the recycled chainstay/dropout piece (red arrow) and shortened chainstays (yellow).

An inverted head tube/down tube/top tube assembly (red arrow) is reused, as well as the seat tube/bottom bracket (yellow) and top/down tube (green arrow). The goal was to maximize the use of the donor frame. Only a few feet of new tubing was used. To make the long top and lower beams from short scrap tubing, smaller diameter tubes were brazed as inner sleeves.

Plastic mag wheels are from a BMX. Fairing is from a scrap plastic sheet with PVC plastic and aluminum channel as mounts. The seat is a lightweight plastic boat seat purchased from KMart, slightly trimmed for ergonomics and looks. Back support is from a BMX seatpost connected to seat rails from a banana seat.
