2 Bikes = a Quad ....by www.gaerlan.com
Today's featured project is a quad bike assembled out of 2 bikes from Target. These are kids bikes with 20" wheels and front suspension. Some features that make this homebuilt project really impressive are - rear drive system with independent clutch for each wheel and a true push pull steer mechanism.

The 2 kids bike is mostly unaltered. They are joined together at the head tube, at the seat tube (via a bent tube that attaches like a seatpost and supports the seat back) and at the bottom bracket shells using a shaft. One plus of this design is there is no crossbeam at the driver space. You can stand up inside, grab the top tube on either side and lift the bike. Good for those emergency situations when you have to move away from traffic to the sidewalk.
