2 Bikes = a Quad ....by www.gaerlan.com

The bike also uses a true push pull steering system. To turn right, you push the left joystick and pull the right joystick in a perfectly planar movement. The joystick is simply connected to a stem attached to a bicycle headtube (see red arrow). The movement is then transmitted at the other end of the head tube via a steering rod (see blue arrow) connected to the suspension fork.

To keep both left and right forks turning at the same time, a crossbar connected to a stem on each fork keeps them in tune (see red arrosws).
Up to this time, we have not mentioned who the builder is. This awesome builder came and left so quick that we did not have time to exchange information. All we know is that he lives in the Monterey area and works at the Monterey Aquarium. He at least gave us the privilege of riding his contraption and take a few pictures. With a seat height no higher than a sportscar, the quad turned with precision and car like stability. If the builder by some chance gets to read this, please email or call us so we can ask a few more questions.
We hope that this homebuilder tip lights up your imagination for that next homebuilder project ! Happy Framebuilding............J. Gaerlan
